paddle green events
As part of the Stream to Sea Initiative at the American Canoe Association (ACA) I created a program called, Paddle Green Events. I coordinated with our membership and paddle clubs to set up these events across the USA. I would travel to the larger events and manage the volunteers, set schedules, implement program plans, rent boats, provide insurance, and worked with local government for marine debris removal. These events focused on educating the general public by enticing them with free paddling in canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards, bringing out local organization, providing food, while also focusing on and marine debris education and mitigation in multiple marine environments.
I was able to secure funding this initiative through grants with the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration and donations from Subaru. Click here to view event media in the Stewardship Newsletter.
